Stained Glass
The chapel is central to the religious life of the parish serving daily Mass, baptisms, weddings and funerals as well as private devotion. The east wall gets direct sun in the early morning during the daily mass, therefore this glass must filter the strong sun. The abstract design of the glass continues around the entire chapel but the center doors contain architectural nuances that suggest the same forms as the entrance to the Palazzo Publico in Siena. Above the door is the "Matins" rose window with a symbol for the morning sun. The projected image of this rose window falls just above the processional cross at certain times of the day then continues its journey across the chapel as the sun rises.
