Scenes of Siena, Art Glass

The gathering space is surrounded with etched glass panels depicting the scenes St. Catherine would have experienced while living in Siena. The main entrance includes scenes of the Cathedral of Siena and Palazzo Publico. The three east side panels show St. Catherine's home (Casa Benincasa), St. Dominic Church, and the houses and walls of the city. Above the doors is the glorious sunburst with IHS in the center reproduced from the one above the front doors of the Cathedral. Besides creating a connection with St. Catherine's origin the etched glass panels provide privacy from a main roadway and diffuses the light coming into the gathering space.
