Creche

These unique pieces of folk art, handcrafted by ceramic artist Brett Slavin, are made of glazed terra cotta. Mr. Slavin's rich colors are reminiscent of the Della Robbia family of craftsmen. The primitive approach to the figurative sculpting gives each figure a distinct personality that is both endearing and enticing. These pieces are so full of life they can nearly speak. Children and adults alike are captivated by their shear simplicity and joy. The figures are housed in a wooden stable with the angel and star above. The stable is even built using post and lintel construction of that time.
