Blessed Sacrament Chapel
The predominantly African-American parish in Harlem wished for a sanctuary that celebrated the rich history of African culture. The furnishings and architectural screen for the Blessed Sacrament Chapel reflect imagery of the Yoruba tribe. Closed during Mass, then opened for private devotion after Mass, the large screen creates a separate chapel in the former altar area.
