Sanctuary

The renovation of the sanctuary invokes the spirit of Vatican II by creating a central sanctuary predella with altar, ambo and chair that is surrounded by the seating for the congregation. The apse has been redesigned as a much needed sacristy with a new reredos wall and crucifix separating it from the worship space. Above the sacristy and behind theupper part of the reredos wall is a hiding place for the new 12 tons of air conditioning equipment that was also required in this renovation. The original high altar was recomposed in the form of the tabernacle tower erected in the former work sacristy.
