The original furnishings at Assumption Church were handcrafted by George Nakashima from Indian Rosewood. The altar was cleaned and oiled to restore its original lustre. The ambo was recomposed from an existing and previously modified side altar similar to the one in the picture. A reading desk and bookshelf were added. A new lectern was designed and fabricated to fit the Nakashima style. The existing communion rail was re-installed as the handicapped ramp railing.
